This is another card move that is used a lot in card magic. The main idea is to show two cards as one. Before executing a double lift, insert your pinkie underneath the two top cards. Then when you are ready, take the top cards as one and then bow the card out a little so that you make it seem more that the two cards are only one. Then place them back on top of the deck and show the real top card which would be a card change. A triple lift is also used in magic and it is the same technique as above except you are lifting 3 cards instead of two.
