FOUR COINS ASSEMBLY

EFFECT

Four coins are placed on the table and 4 cards are placed on top of them. Suddenly one coin transports from under one card to another, then another coin transports until all 4 coins are under 1 card.

PROP

Four coins and 4 cards.

METHOD

When you lay the cards down on the first coin you secretly slip it into your hand. Then you take that coin and place it under another card so that you are basically ahead of the audience the whole time. Then transportation is possible because when you lift the cards you are able to keep hold of one coin with your thumb to make it seem that there was only 1 coin under the card when there was 2.
Step 1) lay the coins out on the table in a square.
Step 2) square the cards and take them with your right hand, with your index finger on top and the rest of your fingers on the bottom.
Step 3) place the cards and your fingers on top of the coins and as you do, secretly slip the coin on the right bottom from under the cards as you set them down. The front edge of the cards should be on the table and the rest of the card should be angled up so that you can steal the coin.
Step 4) at this point all 4 cards should be down on the table and the coin should be in your hand. Next pick up the 3 top cards and place them in the same way as you did before, with the index finger on top and the remaining fingers on bottom
Step 5) take the concealed coin and place it flat against the cards and then set all the cards and the coin down on the left bottom coin. So now you should have 3 cards on top of the two coins that seem to be one
Step 6) take the other two cards and place them on top of the remaining cards.
Step 7) place your left hand on the card with your 4 fingers on top of the card and your thumb underneath the card bending it a little. With your thumb underneath the card you should be able to lift up one of the two coins along with the card. So lift the card and the coin up showing only one coin, then lift the top right card and show the coin underneath it. Set both cards down and then very quickly loosen your grip on the coin that is secretly under the card and then lift both cards again, but when you lift the cards you grip the top right coin under the top right card just like you did on the other card, so it looks like the top right coin has transported to the bottom left.
Step 8) take the top right card with the coin behind it and put it on top of the two coins, so you now have 3 coins under one card but the audience thinks its only 2
Step 9) repeat step 7 with the top left card and coin.
Step 10) you now have 4 coins under one card which the audience thinks is 3 and they think the last coin is under the bottom right card. Next snap your fingers and lift the bottom right and bottom left cards showing that all 4 coins are now together.
