EFFECT

The magician asks the spectator to think of any number. He then writes the number on a bit of paper, puts the pencil down and the number is the chosen one.

PROPS

You need a pencil, some small paper and a small piece of lead stuck to your thumb.

METHOD

Tell the spectator to think of any number. Pretend to write down a number and then put the pencil on the table. Then ask for the number that the person choose. With the small bit of lead, write down the number while stalling her. Say, "are you sure that was your number?" or something like that. When you have finished writing the number, show the person and they will be amazed.
