Trick Effect & Routine:
You draw out the five ESP shapes on a piece of paper: a circle, a cross, a triangle, a square, and a star. Then, you get your medium to exit the room. After a spectator selects a shape, you take a seperate blank sheet of paper and slide it throught the door to the medium. After some time, the paper slides out through the door with the spectator's thought-of shape on it. The second time you do it, the spectator gets to slide the paper through the door. The medium gets the shape right again. The third time you do it, you don't even use a paper. You just snap your fingers and the medium names the shape.

Preparation:
A willing volunteer to learn the secret code. Just remember the shapes like this:

circle: one
cross: two
triangle: three
square: four
star: five

At first, YOU slide the paper through the door. Where you slide it through will determine the shape selected. Number the door like this:

far left-hand corner: circle
left middle: cross
right middle: triangle
far right hand corner: square

Just slide the paper in vertically through these areas in the door and your medium will know which shape was selected. For the star, slide the paper in horizontally.

The next code involves verbal communication. Just speak loud enough for the medium to hear:

Okay: circle
Okay, concentrate: cross
Okay, now concentrate: triangle
Okay, are you concentrating?: square
Okay now remember to concentrate: star
